John has spent the last 28-plus years working in the political, lobbying, and non-profit worlds in the areas of high dollar fundraising, direct mail, political strategy, grassroots activism, state and federal legislation, and non-profit management. He is the founder and President of JFT Consulting, Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in political strategy, fundraising, and grassroots lobbying. John also served as the Campaign Manager for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Committee and as National Political Director for the 2008 Ron Paul Presidential Campaign. He worked as an advisor to Senator Rand Paul’s 2010 campaign for US Senate, and is currently the President of Campaign for Liberty. Prior to joining Campaign for Liberty, John served as the Vice President of Membership for the Leadership Institute. During his time at LI he raised over $4 million. He also has taught, and continues to teach, at many of LI’s schools. Before joining LI, John spent 14 years with the National Right to Work Committee, serving as Vice President from 1998 to 2004. John was the 1996 GOP candidate for Congress in Virginia’s 2nd district and the Chairman of the Rules Committee at the 1994 Virginia GOP state convention, at the time the largest political convention in American history. Throughout his career John has worked for and advised hundreds of candidates in over 20 states, from small town mayoral races to presidential races. A few notable candidates John has worked for are Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Pat Robertson, Mike Farris, and Jim Gilmore.
Elizabeth Tate has served as the Executive Vice President and Treasurer of America’s Liberty Political Action Committee (ALPAC) since 2012. In this role, Elizabeth oversees the day-to-day operations of ALPAC, manages all PAC finances and accounting, handles all HR details and manages all event planning. Elizabeth brings over a decade of experience in nonprofit and PAC management, fundraising, event planning, database management, and campaign experience to ALPAC. She has worked on a number of local, state, and federal campaigns including the 2008 and 2012 Ron Paul for President campaigns and the 2010 Rand Paul for Senate Campaign. Elizabeth is originally from New Jersey and earned her BA in Political Science with a concentration in Public Policy from Monmouth University. Political activism runs in Elizabeth’s blood and she comes from a long line of conservative, liberty-minded politicians. Some of her fondest memories are sitting around the dinner table as a child and discussing current affairs and politics with her father who is currently serving his second term as Mayor of her hometown. Elizabeth moved to Virginia 11 years ago to pursue her dreams of working in politics. She resides in Warrenton, VA with her 6-year-old rescue dog, Charlotte, and is a proud, first-time Aunt to her niece, Kathryn Elizabeth.
Chris Younce is the owner of Grassroots Strategies, LLC, a Washington, DC based political consulting firm. He also serves as the Vice President for Political Operations at America’s Liberty PAC. In over 15 years of political work, Chris has worked on over three dozen campaigns, ranging from state representative to President. Previously, Chris was Director of Ballot Access for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign. The Ron Paul campaign was also the first to file in every state and was one of only two Republican campaigns to get on the ballot in every state. While on the campaign, Chris also worked on Election Day activities in several states. A Missouri native, Chris attended the University of Missouri, majoring in political science. While at Mizzou, he developed his love of politics and campaigns.
John McCardell is the Vice President for Finance at America’s Liberty PAC. In this role, he plays a major part in fundraising efforts and donor relations to support the PAC’s mission. Mr. McCardell was the National Finance Director for Ron Paul’s 2012 Presidential Campaign and has also served as Vice President of Development at Dr. Paul’s Campaign for Liberty. He has been involved in local Virginia politics throughout most of his career as well as bringing his talents to larger efforts such as presidential races.
Matthew Burrow holds a Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University, where he was co-founder and President of the Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) chapter on campus. Upon graduating in May 2010, he joined the National Right to Work Committee as field staff in the Big Labor battleground states of Iowa and Indiana prior to becoming Director of Membership at Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty, a grassroots lobby advancing the constitutional principles of sound money, free markets, and individual liberty. Matthew served as a Delegate (VA-08) to the 2012 Republican National Convention, was twice elected as Chairman of the Arlington-Falls Church (VA) Young Republicans (2012-2014), and served a two-year term on Virginia’s Republican State Central Committee (2014-2016). Matthew married his wife, Holly, on Constitution Day 2016, and they live in Birmingham, Alabama, with their two Australian shepherds, Beans and Nancy. He enjoys reading, gardening, golfing, and eating grass-fed beef.
Michael Clayton received his Bachelor’s degree from Western State Colorado University, where he was involved in Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) and served as Senate chairman of the Student Government Association. He graduated in the spring of 2013, with a degree in Politics & Government with a Pre-law emphasis. That fall, he earned an internship with Campaign for Liberty, a grassroots lobby dedicated to promoting individual liberty, free markets, and sound money. Michael served as the Director of Operations at the Campaign for Liberty Foundation. Home of the Ron Paul Scholarship, the Campaign for Liberty Foundation was created to honor Dr. Ron Paul by providing financial assistance to deserving, liberty-minded young people through scholarships and grants. Jacob is a senior at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD, where he is studying Information Systems, Cyber Security, and Computer Science. Whether he is running a Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) chapter at his school, volunteering for local candidates, stuffing envelops and sorting petitions, or listening to his Dad’s stories about 1980’s Virginia politics, Jacob always brings his work ethic and passion to help advance individual freedom in all capacities. After graduation this spring, he plans to settle in Northern Virginia with his fiancée, Emily, and to work in the areas of web design, database engineering, and politically driven fundraising and data solutions.
